JRA are currently undertaking the sensitive refurbishment and restoration of these historic properties for The Mercers’ Company, bringing the existing buildings back into commercial use for modern City occupiers, while respecting the historical and conservation issues of the local area. The masterplan includes a new restaurant, retail and a coffee house together with a centralised cycle store within the vaults under Frederick’s Place.

We conducted a proof of concept study of no.1 building to determine the most practical situation for the kitchen and restaurant arrangement, relative to the existing conditions, and adjacencies. This aided the team to confirm the overall Food & Beverage feasibility within this building.
